A lot of folks that follow an SCD/Paleo/GAPS/gluten free diet have a hard time getting enough calories in. This great if your objective is to loose weight, but not so great if you are like me; athletic, skinny and have difficulty keeping weight on.

These smoothies are a great way to add some extra calories into your daily routine. They could also be used as a meal replacement in a pinch.

Ill be honest, I seldom go through all the trouble of actually measuring the exact amounts of all the ingredients I put into my smoothies. They typically change from day to day. The recipe provided below can be used as a template to experiment with other combination of ingredients.


  • 1/4 AvocadoDSC_0183
  • 1 Banana
  • 1/4 cup of strawberries
  • 1 Cup of fresh or frozen blueberries (fresh will taste much better)
  • 1-2tbsp coconut butter
  • 1 cup of coconut milk (natural value coconut milk is one of the few that doesn’t have guar gum or preservatives)
  • A few cubes of ice
  • 1 tbsp of Great Lakes collagen protein


1. Place all ingredients together in a blender and blend on high until well incorporated.
